Reviews for Ping's Thai Teochew Seafood Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 569 reviewsPing's Thai Teochew Seafood Restaurant in Bangkok is widely praised for its authentic Teochew cuisine, with particular acclaim for its shark fin dishes, which customers find consistently flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant offers a clean and comfortable environment, complemented by attentive and well-paced service that enhances the dining experience. While the ambiance is described as satisfactory rather than exceptional, the focus remains firmly on quality food. Traditional offerings such as crab rolls, oyster omelettes, and Peking duck also receive positive mentions. Some patrons note environmental concerns related to shark fin consumption but generally appreciate the restaurant's culinary expertise and dedication to maintaining authentic flavors.
My first dining experience at Ping’s which was highly recommended by my daughter. The ambience was great with soothing music. Service is great. As I am alone, I ordered the shark fins (medium) and the mango sticky rice. The broth of the shark fins was rich and flavorful and there was good servings of the fins. Perfect justice to its famous dessert of Thailand which is heartwarming with the fresh coconut milk drowning on the warm sticky glutinous rice and complimenting well with the sweet slices of mangoes. Thumbs up
Wanted a good teochew restaurant whilst in Bangkok. Saw the reviews on Ping thai. Absolutely no regrets. Captain knew we wanted a slow dinner, paced the dishes well and I must say, the food was great. Crab roll, complimentary 1000 yr old egg, shark fin, goose web and oyster omelette. Highly recommend.
I am not a super fan of shark fin. And I understand that shark fin contains high levels of heavy metals and is not good for our body. I also know that humans, in order to satisfy their appetite and personal interests, have overfished sharks and cut off their fins and discarded their bodies, causing a marine ecological crisis. Disregarding the negative environmental factors, however, this Restaurant do make a good dishes of food. Service is good. Environment is good. Price is fair. It is 5 stars, but I minor one just for the poor shark.
Tried multiple times already, it's always been my favourite place to crave for shark fin , the taste very consistent everytime I come over.
If you are craving some Chinese food - this is an excellent place. My husband and I would have never discovered it unless our friends took us there because it’s inside a hotel. But the food was excellent. You go to this place for food and not exactly ambiance but still it’s not bad. It’s clean and service was good. We got Peking duck which was our favourite- they scraped off the skin all the fatty bits in the kitchen so every bite was so light and delightful. And the minced duck meat wrapped in lettuce (that comes with the Peking duck - which must request ) was so good too!
Shark’s fin, oyster omelette, stir fry morning glory and crab fried rice with salted egg. 6 stars honestly. The taste is good, and the wok hey is strong. Ambience is good and service is friendly. New favourite restaurant in bkk, definitely will return and recommend to friends.
Very good food, the coconut jelly dessert is a must eat every time I visit.
